McKayla Maroney to Guest Star on ‘Hart of Dixie,’ Can’t Stop Talking in Southern Accent

The world will soon get a chance to see if it’s impressed with McKayla Maroney‘s acting skills.

Maroney, a member of this year’s gold medal-winning U.S. women’s gymnastics team, will appear on an upcoming episode of Hart of Dixie. She’ll appear on the show — which airs on The CW — as Tonya, a girl who comes to the defense of her friend Rose, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Maroney, who became even more famous for her “not impressed” face at this year’s Summer Olympics in London, was rather excited on Wednesday. She sent out a number of tweets concerning her upcoming role, even admitting that she can’t stop talking in a southern accent in the wake of filming the episode.

Maroney continues a trend of U.S. Olympians snagging guest roles, as fellow gymnast Gabby Douglas and Ryan Lochte have also tested their hands at acting.

Quote of the Day

It’s simple. Not much I would’ve done differently, I don’t think, other than I think I would’ve kept the beer in the clubhouse. I could’ve used it after a few games.
