Thierry Henry’s ‘Olimpico’ Goal Ranks Among Best Goals in Any Soccer League (Video)

Thierry Henry scored some of the best goals in Premier League history, and he's up to his old tricks in Major League Soccer.

The New York Red Bulls captain scored an "Olimpico" goal on Saturday, describing it as "not a bad one."

There was nothing bad about the goal. It was arguably as good as any that have been scored in MLS this season.

Henry capped off the Red Bulls' 3-1 win over the Columbus Crew by scoring directly from a corner kick — known in some soccer circles as an "Olimpico."

In the 93rd minute, Henry saw Crew goalkeeper Matt Lampson cheating toward the near post, so he did what any player who has won just about every major trophy in European and international soccer would do: He banged a right-footed shot off the far post and into the goal. It was no fluke, as Henry let the world know during his celebration.

The "Olimpico" goal highlighted a standout performance by the former Arsenal and France star, which included another goal and an assist. But Henry's curling effort (his 13th goal of the season) is the one making headlines around the world.
