LeSean McCoy Claims Personal Feud With Osi Umenyiora Over, Now Focused on Getting Past Giants

LeSean McCoy
and Osi Umenyiora will continue to battle on the gridiron for their respective teams, but the war of words appears to have met its end.

McCoy said Monday that his personal feud with Umenyiora, which has escalated in the past year, is over following Sunday’s Eagles-Giants game.

“I think after the game, it’s time to get over this Osi-and-LeSean thing, because after the game [Umenyiora] said, ‘You’re a heck of a player, we’re in this business, let’s get over this,'” McCoy said in an interview with SportsRadio 94 WIP in Philadelphia, according to ESPN.com.

McCoy last week called Umenyiora “a ballerina in a Giants uniform,” which was just the latest jab in what had become an interesting side story surrounding the division rivals.

Umenyiora wished McCoy a happy Mother’s Day and told him to enjoy his special day back in May. That incident followed Umenyiora referring to McCoy as “Lady Gaga” and “she” after the Eagles running back tweeted that Umenyiora is “overrated,” “soft” and the third-best defensive lineman on the Giants.

Now, McCoy claims he’s focused on the bigger task at hand.

“[Umenyiora] said ‘Let’s be done with it.’ Being a bigger man, also for myself, you’ve got to focus on the Giants, they’re a good team already,” McCoy said. “My goal is not an interdivision battle with Osi. It’s with the Giants, and trying to get to the Super Bowl.”

That’s a battle that Umenyoira’s team has won hands-down thus far, although the Eagles look poised to make life difficult for the G-Men this season.
