“It’s funny when I read the press many times,” Pique said. “When [Mourinho] was winning, he was allowed to do anything. When Real Madrid came to Camp Nou, he poked Tito [Vilanova] in the eye, and how many games was he suspended?
“Now that he is benching Iker [Casillas] or puts a colleague of yours in a room, he is criticized. It’s not fair. Mou has always been like that. The problem is that when he was winning, he was permitted anything and now is not the case anymore. I don’t think the press should be this way. And this goes also for Barcelona press.
“It seems that we will never lose, but that will happen. When a journalist loses his impartiality, is when things are done wrong. I speak to both sides, it is not a criticism only to Madrid [press],” he added.
The 25-year old still thinks Real Madrid should not be dismissed from the league title race yet, despite the 18-point difference with Barcelona.
“Until Real Madrid mathematically has no options, it will be a great rival,” he said.
The Spain international talked about the great momentum of his team but said it is not good to have a sensation of invincibility.
“The limit is never reached and now we are back to a good level of play,” he continued. “We cannot have a sense of being invincible. The team is prepared to receive compliments, but they do more harm than good. This year we can play with many alternatives. We have a very good and competitive squad.”
