The eyes of many Bostonians were trained on TD Garden on Wednesday, but the Red Sox took the field that night, as well.
Starter Alfredo Aceves tossed five scoreless innings against the Indians before running into some trouble in the sixth — allowing homers to both Jason Giambi and Nick Swisher in the frame — but the Sox, who had built a 5-0 lead entering the bottom of the sixth, held off the late Cleveland charge to leave Progressive Field with a 6-3 victory.
It was Aceves’ first win in two starts this season, and the tired right-hander discussed his outing with the media after the game before calling it a night. See what he had to say in the video above.
