Brittney Griner Drafted No. 1 Overall by Phoenix Mercury, Visits Diamondbacks at Yankee Stadium (Photo)

On Tuesday, the Phoenix Mercury finally made it official, taking Baylor standout Brittney Griner with the first overall pick in the WNBA draft.

Griner comes into the WNBA as perhaps the most dominant player in the history of women’s college basketball. While at Baylor she become the second-highest scorer in NCAA history, with 3,283 points in her career. Griner also has the most blocks all-time in women’s college basketball.

And, of course, Griner can dunk, with 18 during her college career.

After the draft, Griner got a little first-class treatment in Phoenix. Griner headed out to Yankee Stadium as a guest of the visiting Diamondbacks, where not only did she get to chat around the batting cage with manager Kirk Gibson, but was also presented with a No. 42 jersey (the number she wore at Baylor) with her name inscribed across the back.

Just remember, at 6-foot-3, Bubba Watson isn’t exactly a small guy, himself. Shaq looks good in pink though, doesn’t he?
