Last December, Rutgers men’s basketball coach Mike Rice was suspended three games and fined $50,000.

Although the suspension was reported, there were not many details of exactly what Rice had done to anger members of the Rutgers athletic department. Now, some more disturbing details have come to light.

Former Rutgers director of player development Eric Murdock went to ESPN’s Outside the Lines with footage of Rice’s antics. The video includes Rice swearing at players, throwing basketballs at them and violently grabbing and pushing them.

“To witness that video and see your coach physically putting his hands on players, physically kicking players, firing balls at players at point-blank range, the verbal abuse, the belittling. Yeah, I was in total shock that this guy wasn’t fired,” Murdock told ESPN.

The former member of Rice’s staff also stated that multiple players had transferred from Rutgers because of the head coach’s actions.
