Few things are more nerve-racking than a first day at an internship. Copiers may fight back, coffee will burn, but if you’re working for LeBron James, at least you can’t complain that your boss is a loser.
James and his website team (LeBronJames.com) are on the hunt for interns.
The internship program offers experience for students available at least 10 hours a week and interested in “online content development and digital sports management,” according to the job description. To qualify for a position, candidates should be familiar with WordPress, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, social media platforms and — drum roll, please — basketball.
Oh, and they should be ready to interact with James’ adoring fans around the globe — just another day at the office.
Residency in Ohio, south Florida or New York is listed under “desired qualifications,” along with fluency in Spanish and journalism, marketing or communications experience. All interested applicants must submit their resume, cover letter and why they would be “the perfect person for the internship” by 10 a.m. June 4.
No information is given on whether interns will be paid, but James probably will not have trouble attracting applications.
With the Heat’s series against the Pacers tied 2-2, students are encouraged to turn in applications sooner rather than later. Who’s to say Dwyane Wade doesn’t love WordPress and free labor?
