Toronto head coach Randy Carlyle wasn’t happy with his team’s Game 1 loss to the Bruins on Wednesday night, but he wasn’t prepared to give Boston much credit for a job well done. Instead, Carlyle placed the blame on his own team for a disappointing effort.
“I just thought that we self-destructed,” the dejected coach said after a 4-1 loss to the Bruins. “We had a decent start, we scored the first goal of the game, we get ourselves on the right track — I thought we had our forecheck going early in the hockey game and then we just stopped.”
