Red Sox Hoping Clay Buchholz Can Play Stopper, But Shouldn’t Make Habit of Needing One (Video)


The Red Sox have not had a very fun trip to Chicago, as the White Sox are on the verge of a sweep on Wednesday night. Clay Buchholz will be on the mound in hopes of preventing that, and Boston would certainly hope for him to be capable.

Once again, the Red Sox find themselves in need of a “stopper” to prevent a longer losing streak, and instead of turning to Jon Lester as they did last time, it’s now Buchholz’s turn to step up. NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette is optimistic that he’s up to the task, but a little more concerned about how often stopper-worthy situations have arisen.
