Scott Kazmir Could Be Big Part of Indians’ Rotation If He Can Stay Healthy (Video)

Scott Kazmir is facing the Red Sox for the first time since August 2010 on Saturday afternoon and it’s been a tough road for the lefty since that time.

Kazmir has had injury and performance issues that have kept him out of Major League Baseball. Last year he spent time in the independent leagues with the Sugar Land Skeeters where he struggled, compiling a 5.34 ERA in 14 starts with 51 strikeouts in 64 innings.

He’s been shaky this season with the Indians, pitching brilliantly in some starts and struggling mightily in others. He’s 2-2 with a 6.35 ERA in six starts.

The Boston Globe’s Pete Abraham discussed Kazmir’s matchup with Jon Lester on Red Sox Gameday Live with NESN’s Adam Pellerin. Check out Abraham’s analysis in the video above.
