Red Sox Doing Right Thing in Being Patient With Jacoby Ellsbury (Video)

Jacoby Ellsbury played in 43 straight games this season before he finally took a break. In the last week he’s missed four straight with a groin injury, including Tuesday night’s matchup against the Rangers.

While the Red Sox have been without their main leadoff man, Jackie Bradley Jr. has played well in Ellsbury’s absence. Ellsbury’s injury is improving and he could return to the lineup soon, but as the crew on Red Sox GameDay LIVE discussed, the extra rest time will benefit him in the long run — especially so early in the season.

Watch the video above to hear what Tom Caron, Nick Cafardo and Tim Wakefield had to say about Ellsbury’s return to the lineup.
