Report: Charlie Sheen Joined by Former MLB Player Todd Zeile in Scotland on Search for Loch Ness Monster

Yes, you absolutely read that headline correctly.

During his later-career “tiger blood” resurgence, actor Charlie Sheen has apparently become quite chummy with former MLB third baseman Todd Zeile. If you don’t recall, Zeile was never a spectacular player but hung around the big leagues for 16 years, playing on the Mets team that made it to the 2000 World Series. He was also part of the trade that sent Mike Piazza from the Dodgers to the Marlins.

Basically, Zeile was one of the most middling, inoffensive players in baseball during his career, mostly soft-spoken and never involved in any controversy. So, perhaps that makes the following tale even more bizarre.

Sheen called up Zeile and another friend last-minute, according to TMZ, and the trio flew to Scotland last week. The three are said to have rented out a castle right next to Loch Ness, likewise rented a boat and headed out on the loch in search of the famed cryptid Loch Ness Monster.

The group’s only piece of equipment? A bottle of scotch.

The trip lasted just 24 hours and did not turn up new evidence of interest to cryptozoologists, according to the report. However, joining Charlie Sheen on a search for the Loch Ness Monster armed only with a bottle of scotch sounds like the best party, ever.
