The Red Sox came out on the wrong end of an 11-inning decision Wednesday night, but they hope that some ninth-inning heroics will jolt Mike Napoli out of his miserable slump.
Napoli launched a two-run, two-out home run in the top of the ninth — his first since July 24 — to send the game into extras and the Red Sox bench into hysterics. The Blue Jays went on to win two innings later, but WEEI’s Mike Salk says that Napoli’s homer will still serve as one of the seminal moments of this season.
