Mariano Rivera didn’t pitch in his final visit to Fenway Park, yet the Red Sox made sure he had a memorable trip to Boston.

Before the Red Sox swept away the Yankees with a 9-2 win Sunday, they honored Rivera with a pregame ceremony on the Fenway Park infield. The entire team came onto the field as Rivera was showered with gifts and shown a video in which Kevin Millar, Dave Roberts and Bill Mueller jokingly thanked the Yankees closer for blowing Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS.

The ceremony included laughs, cheers and probably some tears, as Rivera has officially toed the Fenway Park rubber for the final time — unless the Yankees manage to make it back to Boston for postseason baseball. It was a moving tribute that further showed just how respected Rivera is across all of baseball.

Check out Sunday’s pregame ceremony in the video below.
