Rob Gronkowski Looks More Ready to Return Than Danny Amendola, Though Both Are Unlikely to Play in Week 3 (Video)

FOXBORO, Mass. — It’s looking like the Patriots will still be without Tom Brady‘s top two targets again on Sunday afternoon.

Danny Amendola looked in rough shape during Wednesday’s practice, limping significantly with his injured groin. Rob Gronkowski looks in much better shape than Amendola, but it’s still looking more likely the Patriots bring their All-Pro tight end back in Week 4 against Atlanta than against the Buccaneers.

It’s important for Gronkowski to be at full health and strength when he makes his triumphant return. Gronkowski looked like he got a full workout in on Monday, coming back into the team’s locker room in a full sweat. He’s expected to talk to the media on Wednesday, though explicit updates on his health are not to be expected.

To hear more about Gronkowski and Amendola’s injuries, watch NESN Patriots writer Doug Kyed discuss Wednesday’s practice with’s Nick Underhill.
