NBC’s promotion for the annual Thanksgiving Showdown has begun, and it includes two former stars who Bruins and Rangers fans know and love in Cam Neely and Mike Richter.
The first promo about the Bruins and Rangers’ matinee game on November 29 at TD Garden has been released, and it features two families, one that roots for Boston and the other for New York, trying to have a peaceful Thanksgiving day. As you might expect, the rivalry prevents that from happening and causes some hilarious exchanges between the family members, including a fight in the kitchen and an argument over Bobby Orr at the dinner table.
Towards the end of the promo, Neely and Richter show up at the door with desserts. Neely offers a Boston Cream Pie and Richter offers a New York Cheesecake, and what starts as a pleasant exchange becomes a debate over which dessert is better.
