The 27-year-old running back now plays for the Seattle Seahawks, but he was drafted in 2007 by the Buffalo Bills in the first round. When he was drafted, Lynch didn’t know that Buffalo wasn’t part of New York City.
“I didn’t know what to expect, I just knew I was going to New York,” Lynch told E:60. “I thought I was gonna be out there with Jay-Z, and then when I finally landed in Buffalo… [there was] slush on the ground. It had just finished snowing. I didn’t [know anything about snow].”
As the largest city in the United States, it’s easy for people who don’t live in New York to get confused over the different boroughs and suburbs, but Buffalo isn’t anywhere close to the city. In fact, they are about 370 miles apart.
