Bill Maher Rips Red Sox’ Boston Marathon Tribute, Says ‘City Was Not Leveled by Godzilla’ (Video)

When Anthony Weiner is telling you you’ve gone too far, that may be a good time to shut it, Bill Maher.

The controversial host of HBO’s Real Time did his usual — saying ludicrous or just mean things to attract attention — in a recent broadcast, ripping the city of Boston for having a tragedy that apparently wasn’t tragic enough.

“So the Red Sox won the World Series. Congratulations, Red Sox,” Maher said on the Friday night show. “So the parade, they go to the place where the marathon bombing took place, they put the World Series statue there and they sing ‘God Bless America’ and they say ‘Boston strong’ and they chant ‘U.S.A.,’ you know. It was again, a bad day, three people died, that’s terrible. More were maimed, that’s horrible, but unfortunately that happens every day, in car accidents and everything else. I mean, your city was not leveled by Godzilla.”

Weiner quickly rebuffed Maher.

“I don’t know, such a nice moment,” he said. “What’s wrong with you?”

Exactly. Check out Maher’s comments in the video below.
