Blues’ Kevin Shattenkirk Excited for First Game in Boston Since Leaving Boston University (Video)

St. Louis Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk has become one of the best players at his position since leaving Boston University.

He was part of the Terriers’ team that won the 2009 national championship, and after spending the following season at BU, he began the next chapter of his hockey career in the AHL before making his NHL debut for the Colorado Avalanche during the 2010-11 season.

In that season, he was involved in a trade between the Avalanche and Blues — one that has turned out to be a major win for St. Louis. When the Blues take on the Bruins at TD Garden on Thursday night, it will be Shattenkirk’s first game in Boston since leaving the Terriers.

Check out what he had to say about his return in the video above.
