Tom Brady May Have Audibled Play Named After Bill Belichick’s Girlfriend Linda on Rob Gronkowski Touchdown

The Patriots were better than the Broncos in a few facets on Sunday, and one of those facets was audibles at the line of scrimmage.

Peyton Manning may be known for his “Omaha!” calls at the line, but Tom Brady has a few good ones of his own, and it appears the Patriots have become rather creative with their audibles recently. Brady could be heard calling “Cougar! Cougar! Linda!” at the goal line on Sunday night before a touchdown throw to Rob Gronkowski.

Linda happens to be the name of Bill Belichick’s girlfriend, Linda Holliday.

Brady was coy about the play on Dennis & Callahan on Monday, saying the Patriots have many different calls.

But Holliday, speaking with the Track, went along with it.

“Well, since it was obviously a good call and a well-executed play, I’ll take a tiny bit of credit — but only for a well-named play,” Holliday said. “Seriously, the whole team played hard, and we all couldn’t be happier, right?”

If Belichick didn’t do enough to bolster his reputation with his overtime call Sunday night, he’s now planted a reminder in everyone’s head of whom he’s dating. The Patriots are on the top of the world right now, they are.
