Will Middlebrooks Chops Off Beard, Goes Clean-Shaven for Offseason (Photo)

Will Middlebrooks has become the latest to join the clean-shaven club.

The young third baseman, whose beard had become surprisingly respectable by the end of the Red Sox’ run to the World Series, did away with his facial hair on Monday, shortly after teammates David Ortiz and Shane Victorino did the same. It wasn’t a complete shave, though — he did decide to hold onto the soul patch.
