Brian Flynn Gives Sabres First-Period Lead With Shorthanded Goal (Video)

The Buffalo Sabres opened the scoring in Thursday night’s game against the Bruins with a shorthanded goal from forward Brian Flynn.

Johnny Boychuk was unable to control a pass at the blue line while the Bruins were on a power play, and that’s when Flynn gathered the loose puck and made his way toward the attacking zone. He scored on a beautiful backhand shot that beat Boston goaltender Chad Johnson for Buffalo’s first shorthanded goal on the season.

Check out a replay of Flynn’s tally in the Amica Coverage Cam video above.
