Rajon Rondo has not been medically cleared to return to full practice just yet.
After encouraging reports came out on Monday that the Celtics point guard may have already been cleared or at least was close to being cleared, Rondo squashed those rumors on Tuesday, telling CSNNE’s A. Sherrod Blakely that his recovery is “going fine,” but he still has yet to be cleared for full contact in practice.
Rondo has not played for the Celtics since Jan. 25, and while he has been adamant about not rushing back, he has been slowly increasing his workload in practice. Rondo is still waiting to get the green light from his doctors, but that answer could be coming soon, as Blakely reports that he’ll meet with Dr. James Andrews while the Celtics are in New York between Dec. 7-Dec.10.
Rondo will not return to the court until he feels 100 percent, but if he does get clearance from his doctors, it’s possible he could return to the Celtics by the end of December.
