The Boston Bruins lost a special friend last week as Sam Berns lost his battle with progeria.
The 17-year-old changed many lives with all he did to raise awareness of the rare disease, and he certainly left his mark on his favorite hockey team. Berns formed friendships with many members of the Bruins, and the team honored his memory with a moment of silence and a video montage at TD Garden before they dropped the puck against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night.
