The San Diego Chargers owe the turf a few pats on the back for taking down Eric Decker when they failed to do so themselves.
Late in the second quarter, the Broncos wide receiver was in the midst of an impressive punt return when he became his own worst enemy and took himself down. Decker broke a few tackles and beat the punter to get himself into the open field for what appeared to be a sure touchdown. Unfortunately for Decker and the Broncos, though, the 40-yard line had other ideas.
With the end zone in his sights, Decker tripped on the turf and fell flat on his face.
