Wes Welker missed the final three games of the regular season after suffering his second concussion of the season. In his first game back with the Denver Broncos, Welker was sporting a special new helmet to help better protect him.

Welker, who suffered his second concussion in Week 14, was wearing a noticeably larger helmet in his return to the field, which seemed to be specially made to help avoid further concussions.

The oversized headgear didn’t seem to effect the 32-year-old receiver’s play on the day, though. Welker caught four passes for 24 yards, including a three-yard touchdown pass, through three quarters to help the Broncos take an early 17-point lead against the Chargers.
