Red Sox Equipment Truck Will Carry 20,400 Baseballs, 200 Batting Gloves, Much More

Boston Red Sox Truck DayThe Boston Red Sox’s equipment truck once again will be well-stocked.

The 53-foot equipment truck, which is scheduled to leave Saturday for Red Sox spring training in Fort Myers, will be driven by Milford, Mass., native Al Hartz for the 16th straight year. The fully stocked truck is expected to depart Fenway Park to begin its 1,480-mile trip around 10 a.m.

Loading the Red Sox’s equipment truck will be no easy task, though. The truck will carry a crazy amount of baseball equipment and ample supplies to Fort Myers.

Here’s a glimpse at what the equipment truck is expected to carry, according to a press release.

-20,400 baseballs
-1,100 bats
-200 batting gloves
-200 batting helmets
-320 batting practice tops
-160 white game jerseys
-300 pairs of pants
-400 T-shirts
-400 pairs of socks
-20 cases of bubble gum
-60 cases of sunflower seeds
