Super Bowl Gets Much-Feared Bad Weather, Snow — A Day Late
The NFL invited catastrophe when it scheduled this year’s Super Bowl at an open stadium in New Jersey in February. Monday’s weather showed just why that could have been a bad idea.
East Rutherford, N.J., and New York are getting slammed with wet snow. The forecast is calling for a 100 percent chance of snow, with about four to six inches of accumulation and 10 to 15 mph winds.
Fortunately for the NFL, Monday’s conditions come the day after the Super Bowl, and the classic winter weather did nothing to influence Sunday night’s game, which was played in warm temperatures and under clear skies.
As new NBC late night host Seth Meyers notes, though, it’s not like the result would have changed for the team expected to be affected most by bad weather.
