Los Angeles Kings defenseman Jake Muzzin got very well-acquainted with the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.
Muzzin had just released a pass near the blue line during the Kings’ eventual 3-1 win when he was run over by Jets D-man Dustin Byfuglien — all 6-foot-5, 265 pounds of him.
Byfuglien checked Muzzin into the boards with such force that the baffled blueliner fell over backward and tumbled head over heels into the Winnipeg bench, sending several Jets scrambling to avoid Muzzin’s flying skate blades.
