Broadcast rules prohibit non-CBS stations around the country from showing March Madness highlights until the day after the game, so ABC affiliate WCJB-TV in Gainesville, Fla., had to put on their thinking caps after the Florida Gators defeated the Dayton Flyers in Saturday’s Elite Eight matchup.

The local station could have taken the traditional route and just showed still images in place of the highlights, but WCJB-TV did one better for its viewers. Anchor Zach Aldridge and a fellow co-worker dressed in blue to represent the Gators while two other station members donned red to represent the Flyers as the four recreated the highlights on a mini-hoop.

From Scottie Wilbekin’s buzzer-beater 3-pointer at the half to Casey Prather’s ferocious slam dunk, the station’s reenactment didn’t disappoint.

Check out a video of their homemade highlights in the video below and let’s hope WCJB continues this trend after Florida’s Final Four game on Saturday.
