Jon Lester Calls His Spring Debut ‘Step In The Right Direction’ (Video)

The wait was well worth it for Jon Lester.

The Boston Red Sox ace made his spring training debut Monday, getting a later start than normal because of his heavy workload last season, but he didn’t show any signs of rust. Lester tossed three scoreless innings, allowing only one run, and posted four strikeouts in the Red Sox’s 6-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays at JetBlue Park.

Check out the video above to hear more from Lester after his start.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
