The uniform number opened up when the Patriots released veteran safety Adrian Wilson on Friday. Revis has worn No. 24 since he was a rookie with the New York Jets in 2007. He wore No. 25 in college at Pittsburgh.
Ty Law, who like Revis played at Aliquippa (Pa.) High School, wore No. 24 for the Patriots from 1995 to 2004.
