Liverpool Unveils 2014-15 Home Uniforms By Warrior (Photos)

The wait is over.

Liverpool unveiled its new home uniforms, or “kits,” Thursday. The Reds will sport their new look at Anfield when the 2014-15 season kicks off in August.

The new, all-red uniforms are inspired by those the Reds wore in the 1960s, LiverpoolFC.com reports.

“The 1960s was such a defining era for this club — Roger Hunt, Ian St John, Ron Yeats — the list of Liverpool legends that played under Bill Shankly goes on and on,” manager Brendan Rodgers said. “For the players to wear a shirt that has taken inspiration from such a successful period for the club can act as a reminder that they can bring those glory years back to Liverpool Football Club.”

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard praised the throwback quality of the new uniform.

“I have a great sense of pride every time I pull on a Liverpool shirt,” Gerrard said, according to LiverpoolFC.com. “This shirt feels like a Liverpool classic and helps me remember the greats who played before us.”

Warrior Sports makes the all-red strip, as it did with Liverpool’s previous home uniform. It uses War-Tech, Warrior’s signature apparel technology system, which makes the fabric highly breathable while absorbing moisture.
