Rory McIlroy unwittingly almost wiped out some competition at The Masters on Friday.
On hole No. 4 — a 231-yard par-3 — McIlroy crushed his tee shot 35 yards past the pin and into the tee box on hole No. 5. Adam Scott, the reigning Masters champion, was waiting to tee off and almost ended up on the receiving end of McIlroy’s drive.
Luckily no one was hurt, but McIlroy was forced to take an unplayable on his wild drive and ended up double-bogeying the hole.
