Seattle Seahawks running back Christine Michael gave Anahuac High School’s Taylor Kirkwood a prom she won’t ever forget when he escorted her to the big dance in April.

According to KPRC in Houston, Kirkwood’s mother, Stacie Holmes, wanted to do something special for her daughter, who has autism. She reached out to the former Texas A&M running back and reigning Super Bowl champ to see if he would be interested in being her daughter’s date, but she wasn’t expecting him to actually accept the invitation.

“I was just like, we’ll see what happens,” Holmes told KPRC-TV, via ESPN.com. “I know he’s busy and I wasn’t sure if he could.”

Holmes didn’t know it at the time, but she has a cousin who went to Westbrook Senior High School with Michael, which is only about 50 miles away from Anahuac. Holmes’ cousin was able to relay the message to the running back and he happily agreed to take Kirkwood.

Check out KPRC’s story on the stand-up move in the video below.
