California Chrome Goes In With Best Odds, Wins 2014 Kentucky Derby

After going in as the favorite horse with 2-1 odds, California Chrome has won the 2014 Kentucky Derby.

California Chrome is the first Kentucky Derby horse that trainer Art Sherman has trained. This is the second Kentucky Derby win for jockey Victor Espinoza, who won on War Emblem in 2002.

California Chrome is the first California-bred horse to win the Derby since 1962, coming in with a time of 2:03. Longshot Commanding Curve took second place, while Danza came in third.

Beverly, Mass.-based horse Wicked Strong finished in fourth place.
