Trevor Bayne Records Ninth Top-10 Finish of 2014 For Roush Fenway Racing

Trevor Bayne of Roush Fenway Racing recorded his third consecutive top-10 finish and his ninth overall in the 2014 NASCAR Nationwide Series season Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway when he crossed the finish line on the final lap in eighth position.

Bayne began the race in the 16th position and worked his way toward the front. He battled a tight condition early, but got into the top 10 following a Lap 23 caution in the 300-mile event.

“Today was a good day for us,” said Bayne after the race. “We had a strong car on the short-runs, which allowed us to really make some moves and gain some spots on the restarts.”

“Overall, I’m happy to come home eighth with this No.6 AdvoCare Ford Mustang, and I want to thank (crew chief) Chad (Norris) and everyone for all of the work they did this weekend. We’re happy to be running as consistent as we are, and I’m excited to get to the track again next weekend in Dover.”

With his eighth-place finish, Bayne improves to fourth overall in the championship standings, trailing leader Regan Smith by 35 points.

Two other Roush Fenway drivers finished in the top 15. Chris Buescher finished right behind Bayne in ninth, and Ryan Reed had a 14th-place finish.
