Justin Williams Wins Conn Smythe Trophy After Kings Claim Stanley Cup (Video)

Justin Williams won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP on Friday night after helping lead the Los Angeles Kings to their second Stanley Cup title in three years with a Game 5 double-overtime win over the New York Rangers.

The veteran winger had a Cup Final-high seven points (two goals, five assists) in five games, including the Game 1 winner scored in overtime. He finished the entire postseason with 25 points in 26 games, tying him with teammate Jeff Carter for second on the scoring leaderboard.

Williams played his best when it mattered most for the Kings, evidenced by the 11 points (six goals, five assists) he posted in seven elimination games, including five points (two goals, three assists) in three Game 7s. The 32-year-old forward also scored the opening goal in the Game 5 clincher against New York.

Williams now has won the Stanley Cup three times (2012, 2014 with Kings and 2006 with Carolina Hurricanes).
