Corey Dickerson Faceplants His Way Out Of Inside-The-Park Home Run (Video)

When things don’t go the Colorado Rockies’ way, they really don’t go their way.

Only one day after the Rockies allowed three runs to score on a wild pitch, they again were victims of a cringe-worthy baseball play.

With his Rockies down two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday, Corey Dickerson tattooed a ball off the right-field wall. Dickerson motored around the bases as the ball ricocheted past the outfielders, sliding easily into third for the leadoff triple. But it all fell apart when the throw slipped past Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez. Dickerson hurried to his feet, only to stumble and faceplant halfway between third and home.

Dickerson’s stumble quickly — and ungracefully — ended the Rockies’ comeback hopes as they fell 6-4, losing their sixth game in a row in pretty ugly fashion.
