It appears there now areĀ angelsĀ in the infield, too.

During Sunday afternoon’s contest against the Houston Astros, Los Angeles Angels pitcher Mike Morin helped turn a botched play into a spectacular one.

Morin induced an easy infield popup from Houston first baseman Jon Singleton in front of the pitcher’s mound. Miscommunication between catcher Hank Conger and first baseman C.J. Cron, however, made the play far less routine.

The two players collided with each other, and the ball popped out of Conger’s glove but hung up long enough for Morin to bail his defense out, as he came from behind the play to make a diving catch. Just your routine 2-1 popout.

The Angels wentĀ on to win the game by a score of 6-1.
