With the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline getting closer by the hour, the rumors surrounding Boston Red Sox pitcher Jon Lester are heating up.

Reports have a handful of teams interested in the left-handed ace, from the Milwaukee Brewers to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Red Sox even have a contingency plan if Lester gets dealt. They will start Brandon Workman in case he gets dealt before his Wednesday night start against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Because of these reasons, Peter Abraham thinks Lester will be gone before 7 p.m. Wednesday.

“The fact today that John Farrell said (they) have Brandon Workman lined up to start for Jon Lester,” Abraham said. “When’s the last time you heard a manager talk about a contingency plan with that much honesty?”

Check out what else Abraham had to say about the situation in the video above.
