Timberwolves Owner Says He Still Wants To Keep Kevin Love, Wants To Win

Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor is sticking to his stance.

Taylor, along with head coach and president Flip Saunders, has indicated in the past that he does not wish to trade Kevin Love, and he told NBATV on Wednesday that nothing has changed.

“My preference is that Kevin will come to (training) camp — and I’m sure he will — and play with the team,” Taylor said.

“We are going to look at everything that makes sense that would make our team better. But we are not going to move a superb player like (Love) without getting equal or more value back.”

The Boston Celtics have been in pursuit of Love for months, reportedly offering Jared Sullinger or Kelly Olynyk, the No. 6 pick in the 2014 draft and future No. 1 picks for the three-time All-Star in early June. The Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors re-opened negotiations again Wednesday, which was seen as good news for all parties trying to acquire the 25-year-old forward.

Love has said that he wants a change of scenery in order to win, which Taylor responded to.

“I say back to Kevin, ‘Well, that’s all I want, too,'” Taylor said.
