There’s a reason Carl Yastrzemski and Jim Rice are revered as Boston Red Sox legends — they worked harder than anyone to become the best.

Yastrzemski, an 18-time All-Star and a seven-time Gold Glove winner who also won the Triple Crown in 1967 and was named the American League MVP that same year, is one of the best hitters in MLB history because he was out there every day and every night trying to improve, according to his former teammate.

Rice lauded Yastrzemski’s exemplary work ethic on “Red Sox GameDay Live,” and in a sit-down interview with NESN’s Tom Caron, Yastrzemski returned the favor.
