The Red Sox held a 3-2 lead over the Houston Astros late in Friday’s game at Fenway Park, but they weren’t able to secure a fifth straight win.
In the eighth inning, the Astros scored on a bizarre play in which Gregorio Petit alluded Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez on his way to the plate, then scored when Red Sox reliever Burke Badenhop dropped the ball when he attempted to tag the Astros outfielder at home.
