Can someone please — please! — give Don Long some love.
Long, the hitting coach for the Cincinnati Reds, just wanted congratulate Kris Negron after the second baseman came home with the Reds’ sixth run Wednesday night. Negron strolled right past his coach, though, hanging Long out to dry.
The worst culprit might have been third baseman Jack Hannahan, though, who appeared to stare directly at Long without reciprocating his high five. Luckily, a Reds employee eventually swooped in to save the day.
It was a high five-filled evening in Cincinnati, as the Reds rode a strong pitching performance from starter Mat Latos to an 8-3 win over the Cleveland Indians.
