Reports: Seahawks Fined Over $300K For Violating No-Contact Practice Rules

The NFL is making the Seattle Seahawks and Pete Carroll open their wallets.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that sources said the defending Super Bowl champs and their coach were collectively fined more than $300,000 and docked two double practices in 2015 for violating the league’s no-contact rules for offseason practices.

Mortensen broke the fines down, reporting that Carroll was fined at least $100,000 while the Seahawks were fined over $200,000 for excessive contact during a June 18 practice.

“The NFL confirmed the loss of two practices, but said the team will be allowed one practice session on the final day of its minicamp,” Mortensen wrote.

The Seahawks were fined for a similar violation under Carroll in 2012.
