Vikings DT Linval Joseph Shot At Nightclub After Preseason Game

MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police are investigating a shooting inside a downtown nightclub that injured 11 people, including Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Linval Joseph.

The team released a statement Saturday saying Joseph was shot in the calf. He was treated for a minor injury and released. The Vikings described Joseph as an innocent bystander.

The Star Tribune reports that eight of the 11 people injured during the shooting, which happened about 1:50 a.m. Saturday, were treated at Hennepin County Medical Center. Two people with serious injuries are in stable condition and expected to survive.

Club owner Johann Sfaellos told the newspaper it was a typical night with patrons busy socializing and dancing, with no fights until he heard gunshots.

Police are still looking for the shooter.
