New Maryland Terrapin ‘Testudo’ Mascot Is Hyper-Realistic, Terrifying (Video)

On the heels of the hyper-realistic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie nobody asked for comes a Maryland Terrapins mascot no child is likely to love.

“Testudo,” the Terps’ once-lovable mascot, apparently has been working out. In a video to kick off the 2014 football season, Testudo is a little more, um, bulky while he protects this house.

Looking a lot more like one of Michael Bay’s heroes in a half-shell than a cute little aquatic turtle, Testudo flexes his muscles, glowers at the camera and pounds his chest. Meanwhile, young Maryland fans run away screaming in terror.
