Sprinklers Soak ITV Commentators Before England-Switzerland Game (Video)
ITV commentators learned the perils of sideline media commentary Monday — much to the delight of the soccer world.
Adrian Chiles, Lee Dixon, Ian Wright and Glenn Hoddle were speaking on the field at St. Jakob-Park in Basel, Switzerland, ahead of England’s UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying game when the sprinklers switched on and soaked the pundits.
It’s unknown whether the sprinklers were timed to activate then or if it was some sort of prank.
Despite the wet clothes of the U.K. television network’s pundits, England registered a crucial 2-0 win over Switzerland to start its Euro 2016 qualifying campaign on the right foot.
